Designing: The Objectivity Paradox

Describe yourself in 4 different contexts and discover you're genuinely different depending on who's watching. The search for a singular "real self" is itself another performance.

Phase 1: Opening: Critique of v1

V1's timer mechanic is gimmicky — 8 seconds isn't enough for meaningful answers. The mirror is abstract. The edit distance metric doesn't capture the existential vertigo. And it misses the social dimension: authenticity is always contextual. V3 should explore: you're authentic differently with your mother, your boss, your best friend, and alone. The paradox isn't 'which version is real?' — it's 'I'm genuinely all of them, and choosing which to show IS the performance.'

The social dimension is the key upgrade. V3 asks 'who are you WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE?' and shows that each version is genuinely them. Then the recursive moment: trying to step outside all contexts to find the 'core' creates yet another context. Goffman's dramaturgical theory + William James' 'a person has as many social selves as there are people who recognize them.'
